“Ultra-fast all-optical packet switching based on multi-wavelength pulse position modulation routing scheme” In this research work, the proposed all-optical packet header routing based on pulse-position-modulation header processing (PPM-HP) scheme is investigated in theory and simulation work. The work is extended by the introductions of new routing schemes for multiple-wavelength routing scenario, multiple pulse-position-routing-tables (PPRT) architecture and PPM-address format in order to increase the routing throughput, further reduce the PPRT and router complexity, respectively. Fundamental building blocks for these proposed routers such as clock recovery, PPM-HP and optical switching modules are also characterised.
